ABOUT ANNIE

Having grown up in England in a large family, I spent three years in New Zealand and built on my first hand experience by assisting mothers of new born twins who had other pre-school children. Since then, I have worked with parents and children for over 30 years as a private nanny, a maternity nurse (including twins), a night nanny, a problem solver, an advisor and coach/guide and support for parents, as a childminder offering early years education, running small holiday programmes and craft clubs and much more.

Whilst I love all my work, I have found that with our current lifestyles, the area in which help is most sought and appreciated is with new-borns and the developmental milestones of the first few years, largely sleep, weaning and potty training.

My ethos is based on the Montessori principles of building independence and freedom within boundaries. I would say that I am observation led and intelligence driven and my work draws on the “3 I’s”- intuition, instinct and intelligence. With a thorough understanding of the psychology under-pinning child development, I observe each situation I work with, assess and devise a manageable plan of action - and then help the family to accomplish and succeed.

My aim is not to make a “quick fix” for now but to put in place the secure foundations for the next stage of your child’s development. My explanations enable parents to relax, gain control and, through understanding, be able to continue with confidence once I’ve gone.

“After we spoke, I was instantly reassured by her positive, understanding approach and can-do attitude towards addressing the challenges...What Annie achieved in her time with us only exceeded these high expectations…

What differentiates Annie...is not only her immense experience but also the sense that she really wants to do the right thing for the baby, the mother and the family in the long term, rather than providing quick fixes.

It is clear that she sees each job as a chance to make a positive, lasting impact on the family.

She has a wealth of knowledge and experience with babies, as well as older children and this, combined with her attitude is an amazing combination.  Her stamina is also unlike anything I have ever seen before – I am in awe!”

CORE VALUES

“It quickly became apparent that she has a wonderful talent for working with children.”

“...the children adored her.”

“I cannot give enough praise for her professionalism and knowledge.  Annie is a valuable caregiver for any family with whom she works”

“Her calm, knowledge and guidance was everything I needed.”
